Biography of Lama Dorjee
I am a Tibetan traditional sculptor and painter born on 15/05/1975 in Kham Province of Tibet.
From 1990 to 1995, i learned clay sculptures, stone sculptures, rock paintings, murals, thankas and engraving paintings in Tibet under the guidance of my teacher Lama Beye, who is a well knowned sculptor and painter in Tibet.
From 1995 to 1998, i went around in differents monastries in Tibet where i made many Buddhists statues, murals and engraving paintings. During these years i worked for the Rekon Monastary in Amdo, Kagyu Monastary in Kham Tsasa, Zhogchen monastary in Kham to name a few.
From 1999 to 2002, i lived and worked between Nepal and India. I had an opportunity to work with one famous Bhutanes Sculptor by name Karma. In Nepal i realised many sculptures for the Scechen monastary and in India i did sculptures and painting working mainly for the Chogling Monastary in Bhir Tibetan refugee settlement.
From 2002 to 2007, i am invited by some NGOs and some private household to made Bhuddhist sculptures and to carry out painting works, during these period i visit also Singapore and Hong Kong for sculptures and paintings.
From Febrary 2009, i am working in Centro Milarepa, Italy where i have been making clay statues and painting works.
From January 2010 i will working in the Karmapa Buddhist institute in Nice, France where i will do Buddhist painting work for one month.
